Julie Walker, Professional Writer

I have a passion for writing, whether it’s an article about a local business or a technical installation guide.

I have over 15 years’ experience managing high-quality technical documentation lifecycles, juggling an average of 300 document updates per year, proofing an infinite number of documents and supporting global customers with translated content in 24 languages. I’m also a writer for a local magazine, capturing stories of people, events, and businesses in the community.

Most recently, I worked at an engineering manufacturing company managing a team of seasoned technical writers. One of the most rewarding things I did was to implement a task-based, content reuse strategy using an XML authoring and publishing system, which resulted in a 50-90% reduction of translation costs per project plus improved the customer experience.
